Parenting @ 10:24:00 PM

Parents are those who hide in one corner and do all the background work so that more people will like us better, so that we can have a little bit more smiles everyday. And yet, they never expect anything from us. As we grow, some of us tend to place our friends before family and even find it humiliating to have parents waiting outside the school for us. Some took it for granted that parents need to abandon everything for them. Frankly speaking, I've seen countless of insensitive kids screaming at their mamas for fetching them late, or asking their parents to just stand outside while they finish their work. (Of course, I've seen super sweet kids too! (:)

Yet, little did we realise that our parents didn't sign on to such a life either. The life of packing sweets for your child's friends so that he has more chances of getting a friend, or dealing with her 'you-don't-friend-me-i-also-don't-want-to-friend-you' problems that seem to be too overwhelming for her. Time to show our appreciation now.

Anyway, just to lighten everything up (since I've been receiving comments that my blog sounds sad which is untrue. Yes, Qian I AM DIRECTING THIS TO YOU!) :

Below is a cute convo between my kids and I when i was fetching him from school:

Me: Wa, why is the weather so hot today?
X: Teacher, I help you ask the Sun to go away la.
Me: *clearly amused* hahaha, and how are you going to do that?
X: I will use my paper bomb to scare it away.
Me: But you've been playing with it all the way from school and its still so hot.
X: *gives a serious thought about it for a few minutes* ahh, teacher i know! I will use 2 paper bombs! (:

Heres another one when I was doing admin:

Y: teacher, I want another sweet
Me: No. You will get diabetes later.
Y: I want. If not i call my father.
Me: Hahaha, call him for what?
Y: Call him to fetch me at 10pm so that you cannot go home.
Me: -.-
Y: Sorry teacher, can you please give me one more sweet please?

haha, its these little convo that kept me going even in the challenging endless screaming. Epic the way they think about everything. Anyway, the language above is seriously crappy so children, please don't learn from them okay!
