In the eternal city and beyond. @ 2:55:00 PM
Too busy marveling at picture perfect views recently, explains the lack of update although I don't update that frequently in the first place. Am suppose to study Italian now but oh well. Thought that it'll be good if I can roughly record everything down so that at least there'll be something to remind me of this trip.
Rome has been a rather scary place. Too many petty thefts and ended up as a target a few times but nope, not suffering from any loss yet. Nonetheless, a few friends fell for it so people coming to rome, please be really careful with your belongings. Hug it in front of you even if it flashes 'tourist'. haha, at least thats what I believe. I am a Chinese anyway and it should be rather obvious that I am not a local so heck it.
Anyway, the unhappy experience aside, this eternal city has been magnificent. Everywhere you go, it's like picture perfect. Or at least thats is true for the city. Residential was just... like residential? Nothing especially wow other than the fact that you can find fountain in many parts of the city and just refill your bottle from it. hahaha, and being able to walk to your friend's house cause everyone lives so near. And meeting Americans with their pro ang-mos and zoning out after a while because they sounded like TV/radio. #sorryicannotunderstandperfectenglish hahaha, okay sounds like the residential areas are fun too now that I think about it.
Clique and Jie came to send off on monday. Was freaking out then but oh well, everything turned out to be alright for now!
Got questioned like mad in Finland for being a Chinese. Apparently according to some TW tour guide, he told his tour group that they were questioning us because there were many illegal immigrants our age and the tour group actually went: 现在的年轻人,真是的!
Like it's my fault?? hahaha okay nvm i think its quite funny actually. Went for the neighbourhood walk organised by the Uni on Day 1 and ended up in Colosseum. Never knew Colosseum was my neighbourhood tyvm. Ended up wearing cui beside the tourists because I thought it was really those kind of 'this is the kopitiam near your house you can buy your breakfast' type of walk. I can leave a world record as the person with most cui dressing in Colosseum and Roman Forum. But it's okay! I wore nicely on my second visit. Quite interesting to know the history of Colosseum though. On how people were made to fight/ kill each other or animals just to entertain the audience, the maze they were trapped in. And having the audience bet on the winner. All the blood and death, how those gladiators must have felt before the fight.

Went to Vatican city and next day after orientation with a newly found fellow NUS peeps (really cannot understand angmos sorry) but pope was there so it as major jams everywhere. Decided to just walk around the neighbourhood and chill instead of squeezing with people. Saw the Vatican wall this time but o worries Vatican, I'll come back soon! (:
Woke up early on Friday to take train to Cinque Terra. And just let these photos do all the talking:
